"LWVMP at Home"
By the VOTER editor
We haven't applied for a trademark, but maybe the LWVMP should. If you missed a LWVMP guest speaker or want to hear the presentation again, you can do this without leaving your easy chair by using "LWVMP at Home."
Thanks to League members, our monthly meeting guest speakers are recorded on video. These videos are available to you several ways:
- View over the Internet
Go to the League website www.lwvmp.org, and click on the link "Check out the videos of our 'Lunch and Learn with the League' Meetings."The Video web page lists all of the presentations available. Click in the "Click to play video" box next to the presentation of interest to start the video. Even with a high speed Internet connection such as cable or DSL, it will take several minutes for the video to download onto your computer.
- Extra Software
Playing videos on your computer requires software such as QuickTime. If such software is not installed on your computer, your browser should prompt you to download a copy first. If you have any problem with software or viewing on line, send a message to the League's website: LWVMPCA@yahoo.com or call 648-8683 for help. One of our geekier members will make a house call and help you get your computer set up
- Get DVDs through the mail.
- Send a message to the League's website at LWVMPCA@yahoo.com or call 648 8683.
- Tell us what presentation you would like to see.
- We will send you the video on a DVD through the mail – just like that big company that advertises regularly.
- Watch on AMP (Access Monterey Peninsula)
The League videos are often shown on AMP (cable channel 24) a week to ten days later. To find the broadcast times:- Go to www.ampmedia.org
- Click on the "search" menu item on the left.
- Click on "Programming Library."
- In the box "Search by Program Title", type LWVMP and then click "Search."
Currently, AMP does not archive LWVMP programs. If you have missed the broadcast dates, go to the LWVMP website to view the video on line or request a DVD through the mail.
