Mock Election
Each primary and general election—as part of voter education—the Leagues of Women Voters of the Salinas Valley and of the Monterey Peninsula provide a Mock Election for grades 4-12 in Monterey and San Benito Counties. However, Mock Election is separate from Voters Service; both are big jobs and occur at the same time of the year. Our website—www.MockElection.org—has helpful links, more information, and teaching materials. There are also curricular materials for teachers that help meet the California Public Schools Content Standards.
We would like more participation from schools on the Peninsula. If you have
an inside track to
Monterey High, Seaside High, Pacific Grove High, or any of the local middle
schools and would like to take flyers there or talk with your favorite principal
or social studies teacher, that would be greatly appreciated. If you have questions
