The VOTER, November 2005, Volume 78, No. 3

THE PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Campaign Finance Reform-It's a very timely topic, and it's fitting that we discuss it the day after the elections this month. Read the article on Page 3 for background information. Details about Susan Lerner, the speaker, are on the back page. I hope you're able to make the meeting. Come for lunch-noon, $15.00, reservations 375-8301-or just come for the meeting-12:30 until 2:00.

Did you vote? If you get and read this before November 8th, it's not too late.

The League is staffing a precinct in Pacific Grove, one of our fundraisers. Perhaps you would like to be involved in that next time-the June 2006 Primaries. Or perhaps you'll get involved in Voters Service activities such as registering voters or presenting pros and cons on the propositions. See the article on Page 4 for a review of all our activities for this election. Those of our members who were involved before this Election Day found it very rewarding. It's part of what the League is all about!

I hope to see you at the meeting on the 9th. Come up and introduce yourself if I don't already know you. And have a great and happy holiday season. Our next meeting is in January 2006.

Marilyn Maxner, President
